Maine EMS News Paramedic Interfacility Transfer Program (PIFT) As of July 1, 2007 all EMS Services providing paramedic interfacility transfers must use the new standard. All of the documents needed to apply for PIFT as well as the curriculum are on the Maine EMS website. Frequently Asked Questions:
Use of Autovents. Autovents are designed for for field use only, that is to be used only on an emergency transport - (from the field to the hospital). For example it can be used on a patient in cardiac arrest from the scene of the collapse to the emergency department.

Maine EMS Journal Returns There is a new publisher for the Journal of Maine EMS, Slingshot Multimedia. Kelly Roderick will be the Editorial Chairman.
