Benefit Spaghetti Dinner
for Arlene Greenleaf, EMT-B

On Sunday September 30, 2007 a benefit dinner was held for Arlene Greenleaf. On July 5, 2007 Arlene Greenleaf, was seriously injured in an ambulance vehicle crash, which also took the life of paramedic Allan Parsons. Their ambulance was struck head on by a drunk driver. Arlene sustained injuries that will take time and rehab to recover from. She is a long term member and former Chief of the Bethel Rescue, a Med-Care employee and is well known and respected in the EMS Community and her Bethel Community. The dinner was  sponsored by Bethel Rescue and was well attended.  All of the food and paper goods were donated for this event. There were 50 items for raffle and over $5000 was raised.

Arlene and her family attended the dinner. She was in great spirits and is looking forward to a full recovery. She has appreciated all of the cards and outpouring of support she has received.

Maine EMS Electronic Run Report System

Maine EMS Electronic Run Report System began on January 1, 2006. As of October 2007,  60 services are using the system. Ten services in the Tri-County EMS Region are using the program: Bethel, Auburn, NorthStar, PACE, Med-Care, Oxford, LifeFlight, Monmouth, Buckfield, and Wilton.

It is anticipated that by year end, 40% of all run reports will be completed electronically.

A Data Committee has been formed and is working on definitions and eliminating duplications.

Remember the MEMSRR website has moved to www.memsrr.org ImageTrend is now providing the primary server for the program. This has reduced overall system cost and increased system speed and efficiency.

Services wanting information on the system should contact Ben Woodard at Maine EMS 626-3861.

Services using the electronic run report must remember to leave a written patient report when dropping off a patient especially in the emergency department. This can be the full run report if it immediately available. For example, if it is completed on a tablet PC or on the hospital PC and then printed out, the entire report can be left. However, an abbreviated handwritten report that has all the pertinent patient care info is also acceptable. Ben Woodard has samples of these abbreviated reports that are acceptable. If you have any questions, please contact Ben or the regional EMS office.
